Male Doberman Puppies

What to expect from a male Doberman

Adult male Dobermans typically stand about 26 to 28 inches at the shoulder and often weigh roughly 75 to 100 pounds, according to the AKC breed standard and breed references. Males tend to be more substantial in build and may take a little longer to mature mentally.

Many owners describe males as affectionate "velcro dogs" who want to be near their person. Like any Doberman, a male needs early socialization, consistent obedience training, and daily physical and mental exercise. Neutering timing is a decision to make with your veterinarian; for large breeds, many vets now discuss waiting until growth plates have closed.

Male or female?

There is no wrong answer. Individual temperament, energy, and your household matter more than sex. Ask us about each puppy's personality when you inquire.
