Pickup or delivery day is exciting — a little preparation makes it calm for you and your puppy.
Before the day
- Confirm the date, time, and place in writing
- Set up the crate, bed, bowls, food, and a puppy-proofed area
- Book a vet visit within 7 days
If you pick up in Billings, Missouri
Bring a crate or a second adult to hold the puppy safely in the car, a towel, water, and a leash and collar. Plan potty breaks at quiet rest stops, and avoid dog parks and high-traffic dog areas on the way home.
If a flight nanny brings your puppy
You will receive the itinerary and the nanny's contact details in advance. Meet at the agreed airport location, check the puppy and its paperwork, and sign for the handoff. Puppies travel in the cabin in an airline-approved carrier.
Paperwork you should receive
- Vaccination and deworming records
- Veterinary exam record and, for interstate travel, a health certificate
- Registration paperwork as described for the puppy
- Your signed sales agreement and care instructions
The first hours home
Offer water, a potty break, and quiet time. Keep visitors to a minimum for the first few days. Follow our first-30-days plan, and read more on delivery & pickup.
